How to be More Green

There are concise list of ways with which one can become more green with solutions for global warming. If one decides to change ones lifestyle and make it more environment friendly, then definitely one can become more green. One of the most important steps that would lead to make one more green is the reduction in the amount of carbon dioxide emissions. One must avoid taking a flight and opt for a train to travel closer. Cars also produce a lot of carbon dioxide and the only one way via which the carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced is to use a car only when required. One must buy the food and other goods that are made locally as this would bring down the demand of the food which has traveled from a far off place to reach you.  It has been found that the products which are shipped account to about 4 tones of carbon dioxide emissions on the world wide scale. One can also switch to a green electricity supplier if possible.

The ones who prefer eating meat and other dairy products can make sure that they buy organic and free range products. One must try to keep away from the super market goods as about one third of the products sold by them are rejected on the basis of bad shape and are usually thrown out. Another way of becoming more green is to advocate others about the benefits of becoming green and asking them to convince others about the new ways to reduce the CO2 emissions. Campaign matters in this case, as it has already shown tremendous results.

Toxic Dumping

Toxic dumping is carried out in every industry that deals with industrial waste, be it more or less it is one of the causes of global worming green house effect. One of most common approaches followed by various industrial units to get rid of the waste material is to dump it anywhere without seeking any legal permission. It is just for the sake of saving money that most companies do not give it a thought that they are playing with the environment of earth, its greenery, the lakes, rivers and oceans. The area where this practice of disposing industrial waste becomes a matter of concern is that this waste has a lot of discarding chemicals which are of high toxin nature and are going to leave hazardous effects on the entire environment.

One of the severe ill effects of toxin dumping is that the quality of water available in future for drinking and other domestic purposes would be pathetic. When this industrial waste is disposed off improperly, it tends to contaminate he water supplies and the ground surface. Usually big rivers and the aquatic life is subjected to the harms of toxic dumping as every year a large number of fishes die as they consume highly polluted water.

It is not that the place where toxic dumping takes place is always far off from the town or city. Generally these areas are freely accessible to kids and due to this they are more likely to develop breathing disorders and serious injuries some time. It can be said that these slacker industrial companies need to be penalized to pay fines to prevent them from disposing their industrial waste in the open next time.

Your Carbon Foot Print

Your carbon foot print is a measure of impact that your daily activities have on the environment and on the climatic changes as well. This carbon foot print relates to the amount of green house gases produced in your day to day lives through the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, transportation and electricity. Your carbon footprint is the measurement of all green house gases that you individually produce and has units of equivalent carbon dioxide.

Your carbon footprint is made up of the sum of two parts namely a primary footprint and a secondary footprint. The primary footprint is the measure of your direct emissions of global worming co2 from the burning of fossil fuels including the domestic energy consumption and transportation. Human beings have a direct control of these. The secondary footprint is a measure of the indirect CO2 emissions from the whole lifecycle of products that you use – the ones associated with their eventual breakdown and manufacture. To put this all in more simple words, it can be said that the more you buy the more emissions will be caused on your behalf.

One can reduce ones carbon footprint by taking various precautionary actions. Turning off lights when not in use, opting up for green energy suppliers, checking out the central heating timer setting and by recycling grey water, the level of ones carbon footprint can be decreased to the minimum possible extent. Lastly, if you are serious about reducing your carbon footprint, then opt for organic and green products as much as possible

Global Warming

Global warming refers to an average increase in the temperature of earth which in turn causes a large climatic change. Global warming may lead to changes in the rainfall pattern and a rise in sea level and another wide range of impacts on wildlife, plants and human beings. Whenever scientists talk of global warming, one thing that comes out of the conversation is that the human beings are to a maximum extent responsible for global warming. One of the major causes of global warming is the emission of green houses gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and various others into the atmosphere. It has been said that human actions are responsible for global warming and the things that have done this are discharge of green house gases from vehicles, smokestacks and burning forests.

Scientists have made all sorts of predictions regarding the ill effects of global warming. They have predicted that not only this global warming would lead to temperature increase but also result in the concentration of severe climate effects such as famines, floods, tornados, twisters and heat waves. Another consequence of global warming would be lower agricultural outputs, lesser summer stream flows, glacier melting, genus extinctions and the rise in the range of various disease vectors.

Many efforts are being made for fighting global warming cause and one such effort is the KYTO agreement that has been made in various countries regarding the reduction of emissions of the several green house gases. Calculations suggest that timely measures can definitely play a vital role in reducing the ill effects of global warming.
