Global Warming

Global warming refers to an average increase in the temperature of earth which in turn causes a large climatic change. Global warming may lead to changes in the rainfall pattern and a rise in sea level and another wide range of impacts on wildlife, plants and human beings. Whenever scientists talk of global warming, one thing that comes out of the conversation is that the human beings are to a maximum extent responsible for global warming. One of the major causes of global warming is the emission of green houses gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and various others into the atmosphere. It has been said that human actions are responsible for global warming and the things that have done this are discharge of green house gases from vehicles, smokestacks and burning forests.

Scientists have made all sorts of predictions regarding the ill effects of global warming. They have predicted that not only this global warming would lead to temperature increase but also result in the concentration of severe climate effects such as famines, floods, tornados, twisters and heat waves. Another consequence of global warming would be lower agricultural outputs, lesser summer stream flows, glacier melting, genus extinctions and the rise in the range of various disease vectors.

Many efforts are being made for fighting global warming cause and one such effort is the KYTO agreement that has been made in various countries regarding the reduction of emissions of the several green house gases. Calculations suggest that timely measures can definitely play a vital role in reducing the ill effects of global warming.
